Our thanks to DeAndra Ramsey from the Houston Zoo for bringing a group of college students to Watson Preserve on May 23. Eleven young people pitched in and helped us for about 3 1/2 hours that Thursday. They demolished and removed the old privy; they loaded up a pine tree that had earlier been cut down (it leaned over the cabin) and hauled it off site; they cut down and removed a number of Chinese tallow trees. Mushroom Walk
Friday, June 20th from 10AM to 2PM David Lewis will be here to teach us about what we find at the preserve. Bring water and mosquito repellent.
Volunteer Workday
For the month of June you may join a work group at the preserve by sending an email to watsonrnpp@gmail.com. Put Volunteer in the subject line and tell us what day you want to come. You can request multiple days. Bring safety gear and mosquito repellent. We will provide tools, water and snacks.
