World traveller.This fern has the widest distribution of any fern in the world. It is toxic to cattle, horses and pigs and it may contribute to the high incidence of cancer of the stomach in Japan where the new shoots (fiddleheads) are commonly eaten.

Mushroom Walk
Saturday, November 16th at 9:30David Lewis and volunteers will help look for fungi. David will teach us about collecting and identifying mushrooms.
As always, stay on the trails and collect only specimens for identification purposes.
Volunteer Workday
November 16th 1:00 pm We will be clearing near the boardwalks using weed-eatersto prepare for the prescribed burn.Bring your cordless weed-eater and safety equipment.We will provide water and snacks.
