World traveller.This fern has the widest distribution of any fern in the world. It is toxic to cattle, horses and pigs and it may contribute to the high incidence of cancer of the stomach in Japan where the new shoots (fiddleheads) are commonly eaten.

Volunteer Workday

January 11th 9:00 am - Noon NEW TIME: 1PM to 4PM
We will be clearing near the boardwalks using weed-eaters to prepare for the prescribed burn. Bring your cordless weed-eater and safety equipment. We will also be doing some raking. Bring a garden rake.
We will provide water and snacks.
